Kabiru Value Exchange

Kabiru Barter Trade

Exchange items, products, services, property and value — by simple declaration and validation.

We can move without local currency. Settle every exchange in Kabiru Credits at 1:1 parity, secured by the Family Trust Graph and validated by community stewards.

The Idea

A community that moves without local currency

Kabiru Barter Trade is the Value Exchange engine of the Ecosystem. Every member can declare what they hold — items, products, services, skills, property — and exchange directly with another member. No middlemen. No banks. Just declared value, validated by the community, and settled in Kabiru Credits.

Items & Products

Exchange goods you own — electronics, furniture, art, fashion, tools — for other items of equal declared value.

Services & Skills

Trade your hours and expertise. A fundi swaps work with a tailor; a teacher swaps lessons with a chef.

Property & Assets

Land, premises, vehicles and similar assets can be declared, validated and barter-exchanged under secure protocols.

Produce & Harvest

Farmers exchange produce for inputs, machinery time, transport or other harvests across regions.

Value & Credits

Where exchanges aren't perfectly equal, the difference is settled cleanly in Kabiru Credits at 1:1 parity.

Community-to-Community

Whole groups, cooperatives and SACCOs can transact bulk barter through validator-supervised flows.

How It Works

Declare. Validate. Exchange.

Every barter follows the same simple, secure four-step protocol — supervised by ecosystem validators inside the Family Tree.

01

Declare

List the item, service or asset you want to exchange. Add photos, condition, and your asking value in Kabiru Credits.

02

Match

Browse other declarations or post a wanted-listing. Members propose direct swaps that meet your terms.

03

Validate

Validators verify both sides — identity, ownership, condition and declared value. Each participant escrows 10% of item value as commitment.

04

Exchange

Once validated, the swap is executed. Any value difference settles in Kabiru Credits 1:1. Validation fees cover the secure infrastructure.

Validation Fee

10% of item value — from each participant

To keep barter exchanges safe and serious, the validation system requires 10% of the declared item value from each participant. This is the only fee — and it secures verification, dispute protection, ownership checks and the integrity of every swap.

  • Funds infrastructure & validator stewardship
  • Filters out non-serious listings
  • Covers dispute resolution if a swap is contested
  • Returned/credited where exchanges are cancelled by validators
Worked Example
Maria's bicycle declared at30,000 KBC
John's laptop declared at30,000 KBC
Maria's validation fee (10%)3,000 KBC

Why Barter

Move value, not currency

Local currency is one tool. The Ecosystem unlocks another — direct exchange of value that the community already holds.

Currency-Free Mobility

When cash is scarce, value isn't. Barter lets your assets and skills keep circulating.

1:1 Kabiru Credits

Every settlement is in Kabiru Credits — a closed-loop community value credit, never a stablecoin or speculation token.

Trust by Validation

Identity, ownership and value are validated by community stewards under the Family Trust Graph.
